Tapiwa Musewe, Owner & Optician
Tapiwa Musewe is a registered Optician from Georgian College and an internationally qualified Optometrist from the University of Johannesburg. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University. Her journey in ocular health care led her to establish Kuwona Inc. in 2012, initially as a consulting and mobile opticianry practice, with a mission to address global visual healthcare challenges.
She has presented at the Global Specialty Lens Symposium and contributed to Johannesburg’s Ocular Health Program. She has served in governance roles, volunteered with organizations such as CNIB, and in 2022 sat on three committees for the College of Opticians Board, supporting its mandate to ensure safe, high-quality vision care.
In 2024 Kuwona Inc. expanded by acquiring Draga Vision Care, strengthening its industry presence and commitment to advancing community eye health services.

Kelly Carroll, Optometric Assistant
Having been a part of the optical industry since 2012, Kelly brings a
wealth of experience and dedication to every aspect of vision care.Completing the Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant course in 2020, Kelly solidified her expertise, ensuring top-tier service for every patient she encounters. With a passionate commitment to helping patients retain their vision and live their best quality of life, Kelly goes above and beyond to provide personalized care.
Outside of work, Kelly finds solace and joy in the company of her daughter and nieces and
nephews, cherishing the moments spent together beyond the realm of lenses and frames. -
Ammar Tukmachy, Optometrist
Dr. Ammar Tukmachy is a specialist ophthalmologist with over 26 years of experience. He began his career in Baghdad after graduating medical school in 1991 and completed a five-year residency at Ibin Al Haytham Eye Teaching Hospital. He later worked as an eye surgeon in the UAE before moving to Canada in 2010. After completing the International Optometric Bridging Program in 2014, he resumed practice in 2016. Dr. Tukmachy now serves patients in the GTA and Hamilton-Halton region, offering eye exams, diagnosing ocular conditions, and referring for specialized care.
